Day 4 - Final Session - Sunday Jun-9 Girl Prep/Checklist for Sunday
Things the girls were asked to do before the final session
What are you doing for your Journey Take Action Project?
You can use these prompts or write your own!
Progress so far
At the third session , the girls chose their Take Action Project issue, formed groups and started their planning process. Each group (or individual for solo projects) was given a project planning sheet to use to describe their project. If you would like to view it or the girls need a new one, download at this link.
http://www.workshops4girls.com/media-take-action-project-planning-sheet.html
On this page you will also find a leader guide with sample answers.
What the girls can expect this session
The girls will work on finalizing their written plan. Once they are ready, I will “interview” the girls verbally, review their written Take Action Project plan & give their plan a green light (ready to start) yellow light (needs more detail) or red light (start over – haven’t ever had to do that !). The goal is to have all plans earn a green light by the end of the day. There will be crafts for girls to work on as well.
LEADER/PARENT TIPS FOR DAY 4
After Session 4, you (the troop leader or parent) are in charge of monitoring the girls’ project completion.
Please ask the girls about their project and their written plan. They have the hard copy. (In the case of groups, it was sent home with one of the girls.) Discussing it with an adult helps them firm up their plan prior to the last session. The girl's MEdia book has helpful tips for guiding the girls' projects. Look at page 74 - 75 for project examples. Page 76 -80 for help in reaching their target audience. More resources from my website listed below
LEADER/PARENT TALK Please arrive by 3:30.(Unless asked to come earlier. See below)
To ensure that you clearly understand the girl’s project and each girls’ responsibilities within it before you leave the sessions, a troop leader or parent from each troop is required to attend the last half hour from 3:30 - 4 to learn about project follow up. Any leader or parent who feels that you would like more help in learning how to guide girls through project planning, you are welcome to come earlier (during the first half) & observe how I evaluate the girl’s plans.

GIRLS ATTENDING AS SMALL TROOP (less than 6) In the case of one representative coming for a whole troop, I recommend that it is someone who works with the girls and is qualified to help evaluate their project.
GIRLS ATTENDING AS INDIVIDUALS OR WITHOUT LEADER
If your daughter is in a troop but attending alone, it is her responsibility to give a copy of her plan to her troop leader to monitor follow up. An adult who can help the girl convey the information to the leader should attend. If you have questions or concerns about this please email me.
