This new GSUSA Gold Torch Award  series builds Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts' confidence and strengthens their ability to lead their peers.*  They will learn to identify team needs, set personal and group goals, use SMART planning techniques, delegate tasks, develop timelines, and build a toolkit for resolving conflicts. These are essential skills for leading a team as they move on to their Gold Award project.

The Gold Award is a project led by a single Girl Scout, but it still requires her to lead a team of adults and peers. This can be one of the most challenging parts of the process. The skills developed in this series such as planning, delegation, communication, and conflict resolution are essential for helping her lead effectively and successfully complete her Gold Award project.
All Workshops4girls programs are facilitated by experienced Girl Scout Highest Award experts (Bronze, Silver, and Gold). The programs prioritize the development of skills that contribute directly to the achievement of impactful and successful Gold Awards.

*Note: This award is intended for those serving in a volunteer or elected leadership role in a youth group during the duration of the series. Eligible roles may be in sports, school, Girl Scouts, or another community organization. If this does not apply to you, please choose a different leadership award.

What is the Plus part of the workshop?
Our Gold Torch series goes beyond the award requirements. The third session is dedicated to exploring Gold Award resources, with a highlight being our popular Workshops4girls Mentoring Team panel. Hear advice from Girl Scouts who are currently earning their Gold Award or have already achieved it—they’ll share their experiences, answer common questions, and offer invaluable tips for your Gold Torch Award and the Gold Award, too.

What do Seniors & Ambassadors who completed Virtual Workshops4girls programs have to say about their experience?

I gained new insight on how to be more proactive in the community realistically.
I enjoyed hearing from the guest speakers about their experiences and advice of what they have for a successful project.
My favorite part of the series was planning out new projects, as it helped me explore and learn about the diversity of Take Action Projects we can make to help our communities.
It was a great experience and offers lot of resources you would not have if you completed the journey on your own.
I would tell a friend that this is a great way to complete a journey. I already recommended it to my troop. I really liked getting personized feedback on my project plan.
I learned how to choose a Gold Award topic that I’m passionate about and how to actually start my Gold Award.
