Between session ACTIVITIES

This Page is for current Girltopia Girls - Reminders & info

Between Sessions 1 & 2

  1. Look over Girltopia book pages 1 – 18, 29 - 41 (We covered many of them today)
  2. Complete page 16. In an ideal world…
  3. Complete  p 53 –  Guide-it project. If you finished your leading your Guide -it activity, instead of using this page as a planning sheet, list your topic, what you learned & if you were satisfied with your presentation.  If you weren’t satisfied, write down what you would change.
  4. Contribute to the Girltopia Pinterest page - Add a pin or send a suggestion of a board to follow     https://www.pinterest.com/workshops4girls/
Find things you think belong in Girltopia. Things that inspire you or that you think that people should be aware of.   You can find things on Pinterest, YouTube or other social media.  Send with description of why you think it's important to  workshops4girls@gmail.com or send the pin through the Pinterest app.  Username workshops4girls

TIPS FOR SENDING PINS OR VIDEOS

You don’t have a Pinterest account & don’t want to start one.
Email me a link to a webpage or video or a photo.  Add a brief message about it.
(500 character maximum)

I’m not sure what to send.
What do you care about most? What do you think is important for people to know ?  What problems to you wish someone would solve ? What have you seen that inspires you ?

Why are we doing this ?  This journey is a prerequisite for the Gold Award.
Frequently girls have a hard time choosing an issue, this is a challenge to you to look inside & examine what matters to you.  My favorite part of the page is the wide variety of things girls contribute. Look at what is already there.  Are those things that motivate you ?

Between session # 2 & 3 Take Action Project / Create-it art project

Identify three issues that you may choose to do for your Take Action Project .  Write them down & bring the list.
Next session you will be starting your Create-it Art project. The project can be done alone or in groups of your choosing.
If after reading your Girltopia book pages 20 - 28, you still don't know what you want to do, go to this page https://www.pinterest.com/workshops4girls/girltopia-journey-ideas/    You will find art ideas, examples of Create- it projects other girls have done as well as examples of topics that concern girls and women.
Don't have a Pinterest account ? Find the pins here, too.  You don't have to come with it fully planned out, but should have a good idea. You will have about an hour at our session to work on it.  We can provide more guidance and will have tons of art supplies to inspire you at the workshop. If you want to do a video type project, bring a computer.

Read pages 19 – 27 – Create–it Project.  Start to plan your Create-it project.  More info below.   The craft supplies that will be on hand are listed below.  Bring supplies you will need that are not on the list or email me one week before our session so I can provide them.
Read  pages 42 – 51 Ethics
Read  pages 80- 93 - Take Action Project Process - Start narrowing down issues you want to address.
Give the Girltopia Survey to three people or write your own survey

3) Start to plan your Create-it project.

Between Sessions 3 & 4

If I gave your plan a green light (approved) and scanned it at the session & you didn’t make any changes, skip to step 5.
