Great Bronze Award Examples

The key to a successful Bronze Award is to start with what your own Juniors care about, not looking for projects to copy.

That said, we recognize that if you are just getting started, it is helpful to see what a good Bronze Award Take ​Action Project looks like. With that in mind, we have carefully chosen examples tackling a wide range of issues that  illustrate a variety of approaches to Taking Action at the Bronze Award level.

Environmental Pollution ​

Partnered with local restaurants to help educate their customers on the effects of  plastic straws and to encourage them not to ask for one. View the  file below for the full story of their project.

Disabilities 

Educated the public about
​ Dogs for the Blind by running an educational booth at a community event.

​Paws for Independence

​Animal Issues

Held a multi station event educating the public about a variety of animal related issues.
A well researched education campaign about
the harmful effects of declawing cats.

​Environment and Sustainability

Started a composting program for local  school gardens. 
Hosted an Earth Week event at school

​Emergency Preparedness 

Partnered with: Disney, Cal Optima, & American Red Cross.
​ Held an event where they  educated the community about emergency preparedness for fires, earthquakes, and floods.

Public Safety

Partnered with the City of Irvine. 
Petitioned the city to add a pedestrian sign to a crossing area in their neighborhood.

Endangered Species Awareness
​Created a virtual event for younger Girl Scouts to educate them about endangered species.
