The Girl Scout Pathway to Leadership
Progression of Take Action Projects
from journeys to Bronze, Silver & Gold Awards
The Girl Scout leadership model teaches girls to explore their community, identify the root cause of an issue and create a Take Action Project that addresses the root cause through direct action, education and advocacy.
It starts with the journeys Why?
Journeys take the girls through the process of exploring issues and developing a Take Action Project.
Think of it as a “practice” project that builds the skills to tackle the higher awards.
All Take Action Projects contain a version of these basic steps. The size & scope of the project grows as the girls mature. The chart shows progression.
